Compatibility Mode

If you are running the Home Premium version or higher of Windows Vista or Windows 7, you may follow the steps below to enable your driver’s and/or software to run in compatibility mode with Windows XP Service Pack 2. (Note: Unfortunately, this feature will not work correctly with the Basic versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7)

Follow these steps to install your device

1. First make sure to completely uninstall any current drivers and/or software that you have previously tried to install and also to disconnect your camera from your computer.

2. Next, insert the CD or download the driver from our Driver Download section. Then, when given the choice, choose to explore it.

3. Find the Setup.exe file, then right click on the Setup.exe icon and choose Properties.

4. Choose the Compatibility tab and change the compatibility mode to Windows XP Service Pack 2.

5. Then click ok and run the setup.

Follow these steps to use the web cam feature

If your camera is not an HD model and has a web cam feature, please do the following to complete the installation of this feature: Before connecting the camera, you will always need to turn the camera on. You will then press the mode button, select Settings and then scroll down to USB mode and select Camera. Then plug the unit in. Allow the system to auto detect the cam and when finished you can access the desktop shortcut to view the live view for basic functionality. It will require the use of a messenger service like yahoo for the use of the internet web cam feature.

(* DV5900 and DV4500 models change the dial to PC camera mode)
